MIAS Cycle Fit Maintenance Award
A progressive course to learn Cycle Maintenance


Learn how to perform basic maintenance checks and repairs on your bike with a MIAS Cycle Fit Maintenance Award course.
The course is designed for individuals who wish to look after their own bikes or businesses who are running a fleet of bikes for things like bike hire or adventure days out. Its also a good course to take alongside the MIAS level 2 or if you're looking to get a job in a bike shop.

Cycle Mechanic Tools
Puncture Repair
Chain Care & Repair
Adjusting Gears & Brakes
Bike Cleaning & Lubrication
Replacing Gear & Brake Cables
Adjusting/Replacing Brake Blocks & Disc Pads
Level 1 and 3 are delivered together and its in the assessment process that makes the difference, if you are completely independent with the tasks given you will receive a level 3, if you require a small amount of assistance then you will receive a level 1.
Courses are run with 2-4 people per course.
Candidates that meet the requirement will receive both a Cycle FIT Maintenance Course Logbook to record their ongoing achievements as well as receive a Cycle FIT Maintenance Course certificate to the appropriate level.

Standard Learning Credit Scheme
The MIAS Cycle FIT Maintenance Award qualification is accepted under the Standard Learning Credit Scheme, SLC, for all regular MOD personnel. More information is available from DIN 2008DIN07-103. Currently set at ÂŁ175 per year.
