Cycle Mechanic 2 U & Southwest Guides
1. Bookings
All bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed once payment (or a deposit, where applicable) has been received. By making a booking, customers agree to these booking conditions.
2. Services Provided
Cycle Mechanic 2 U & Southwest Guides provides:
Mobile cycle repairs and servicing
Mechanical assistance
Guided rides and cycling experiences
MIAS (Mountain Bike Instructor Award Scheme) Instructor courses
National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) courses
Related cycling training and outdoor services as agreed at the time of booking
3. Pricing & Payment
Prices are as quoted at the time of booking.
Repairs and servicing: payment is due in full on completion, unless otherwise agreed.
Guided rides, MIAS courses, and NNAS courses: payment in full or a deposit may be required in advance to secure a place.
Course fees do not normally include accommodation, travel, food, or personal equipment unless explicitly stated.
Any additional work, parts, or services not included in the original booking will be discussed and charged separately.
4. Cancellations by the Customer
Mobile repairs / servicing
At least 24 hours’ notice: no charge
Less than 24 hours’ notice: a cancellation or call-out fee may apply
Guided rides
More than 48 hours’ notice: refund or reschedule may be offered
Less than 48 hours’ notice: may be non-refundable
MIAS Instructor Courses & NNAS Courses
Cancellations more than 14 days before the course start date: refund minus any non-recoverable administration fees
Cancellations within 14 days of the course start date: fees may be non-refundable
Transfers to a future course date may be offered at our discretion and subject to availability
5. Cancellations or Changes by Cycle Mechanic 2 U & Southwest Guides
We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or amend bookings due to circumstances beyond our control, including instructor availability, severe weather, safety concerns, illness, or insufficient participant numbers.
In such cases, customers will be offered:
A full refund, or
A transfer to an alternative date or course
6. No-Shows
Failure to attend a booking or course without prior notice will be treated as a no-show, and no refund will normally be given.
7. Course Requirements (MIAS & NNAS)
Participants must meet the minimum ability and fitness requirements for the course booked.
Customers are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate equipment, clothing, and a serviceable bicycle where required.
For MIAS and NNAS courses, participants must comply with the relevant scheme standards and assessment requirements.
Failure to meet course requirements may result in non-completion without refund.
8. Safety & Responsibility
Customers are responsible for ensuring their bicycle is safe, legal, and suitable for use.
All participants must follow instructions given by guides or instructors.
Helmets are strongly recommended and may be mandatory for certain courses or activities.
Cycling and outdoor activities involve inherent risk, which participants accept by booking.
9. Liability
Cycle Mechanic 2 U & Southwest Guides accepts no liability for:
Pre-existing faults or wear on bicycles
Damage resulting from undisclosed issues or unsafe equipment
Injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in cycling or outdoor activities, except where required by law
Nothing in these conditions affects your statutory rights.
10. Weather Conditions
Outdoor activities may take place in normal seasonal weather conditions. In cases of unsafe or extreme weather, bookings or courses may be rescheduled or cancelled in the interests of safety.
11. Changes to Bookings
Requests to change dates, times, or course places should be made as early as possible and are subject to availability and any applicable fees.
12. Acceptance of Terms
By making a booking, the customer confirms they have read, understood, and accepted these booking conditions.
